SCRIPTURE

Mark 11: 12-25 New Testament

Wow! What a title! This story takes place right before Jesus and the disciples enter Jerusalem.  They saw a fig tree in the distance with leaves on it.  Upon closer inspection, there wasn't any fruit buds on it which it should have had. That's the natural thing for that species of tree.  Twice a year there's fruit, but despite's nature, no buds,  Jesus cursed the tree and declared it to die because it produced no fruit.  On the same road again after Jerusalem, they saw the tree again and it indeed had withered and died.  His harsh words can be applied to Israel and to us today.

LESSON

We must produce fruit!  What? Fruit means we must show by our words and actions that we are Christians, have love and compassion towards all people.  John 15: 16-17, after the parable of the vine and the branches, Jesus COMMANDED his disciples and us to go bear fruit that will last for eternity.  Bear fruit as witnesses to Jesus Christ being in our lives, our lives are the canvas in which others should see Jesus.💕
