SCRIPTURE

Jonah, entire book, Old Testament

Probably the first book of scripture ever written down.

There was once a very wealthy, powerful, good, and righteous man named Job from Uz. He had 7000 sheep, 3,000 camels, lots of donkeys, oxen, and children.  Most importantly he was very devoted to God.

The devil wanted to test his faith and thought that he could sway Job from God even curse God.  The devil took away EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, even his family died, all his animals, servants, and wealth gone!  Even Job got a horrible disease. Each day a servant came running to Job reporting horrible news, but through all this loss, Job remained faithful, worshipped, and trusted God.

His three friends tried to give him advice(bad advice), criticized him.

Eventually Satan gave up! Job still trusted God's sovereignity and believed that "God's will , would be done." At the end God restored everything to him plus even more blessings.  He lived until 140 years old!

LESSON

God's rewards are material as well as spiritual.  Primary point of this book is not the suffering Job endured, but God's complete sovereignty, supreme power, and authority in suffering. Keep your faith and trust in God even in deep despair and desperation.  God's got you, don't loose heart but be patient.💕
